Madi and Ian's flower story

Madi and Ian chose a muted and elegant colour palette. Lots of whites, ivories and nudes with plenty of mid greens and greys. Their barn wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns calls out for a natural, whimsical look and who am I to argue with this gorgeous venue!

I got very (very) excited when buying flowers for Madi and Ian’s wedding. You see, the first butterfly ranunculus of the season were at the market and had Madi’s name written all over them. For flower aficionados, these are (arguably) the prettiest of the ranunculus with long towering stems and nodding silky petals.  And they were just perfect for Madi and Ian’s look.

To go alongside the ranunculus we went for nude garden roses, veronica, spray roses, euphorbia and the odd mint flower for scent.

Madi’s bouquet was a flower-filled gentle stretch piece. The Westminster garden roses were the stars of the show and for anyone looking for a nude rose these are well worth checking out. Silk ribbons finished off the piece which fluttered gracefully in the Autumn breeze.

The Rickety Barn at Bassmead is a very special place to get married and so we kept the flowery decor simple with posies of flowers tied to chairs and a simple low piece for their top table.

Cream trees hung with photos of the pair were surrounded by flowers in the middle of each guest table. And yep, the butterfly ranunculus made an appearance here too. See if you can spot them in the photos. And last of all was the cake. I mean, just look at it - amazing work by Two Little Cats Bakery.

These wedding flowers were a complete joy to work on and Madi and Ian were the perfect clients. And to top it all off they loved their flowers!

Thank you for all your hard work on our wedding. The flowers were absolutely beautiful, so much more than we could have imagined.
