2019 in pictures (and a few words)

Wow, what a year 2019 was. So many gorgeous weddings, the odd magazine shoot, venue shoots and brand launches. Winning the best florist at the Four Counties Wedding Awards was a dream last November and the past twelve months have just flown past. So many highs (wonderfully creative couples, brands wanting to do something a little different and some wonderful photoshoots which are still a little top secret). Of course there has been a couple of lows (ever been stuck in a church toilet while your van is full of flowers in 35 degree heat?!)

The absolute joy of owning my own business is that I never really know what is coming next. Of course, I plan and have lots of ideas. It’s just that one day I’m in the workshop mopping the floor (yes I might have flooded my own workshop) and the the next I’m at London Fashion week teaching models and influencers how to ‘do’ flowers. But I love it, I love each and every flower that comes through the workshop doors, I love bringing ideas to life and I love the variety of events, people and venues that I work with.

And this year The Flower Story became a preferred supplier for two more stunning venues; The Tythe Barn, Launton and Huntsmill Farm. Both of them are gorgeous barns nestled into the countryside and are a complete joy to work with.

Next year is looking beautiful. After a few weeks break I’m ready for all the gorgeous weddings we’ve got in the diary. There are going to be many more British flower weddings (which I can’t wait for) and plenty of beautiful events. And so before 2020 begins I thought I’d share a few moments from 2019.

Big thanks (as ever) to my wonderful co florists Lorraine, Elice and Claire who are all hiding in the gallery below.
