Kate and Mark's flower story
I've just logged on and realised I have so many beautiful weddings to tell you about. As I was scrolling through them all it was Kate and Mark's wedding that made me smile. They had a vision and it was a good one.
Kate and Mark got married at Woburn Safari Park last summer. A really quirky wedding venue - and one perfect for animal lovers. This is also one of my favourite venues to set up at - I always take the scenic route just to check out and say hello to the elephants.
As I mentioned Kate had a fab vision and it was to go green. She wanted an all foliage wedding to tie in with their love of the outdoors. I have never had a bride be brave enough to go for an all foliage bouquet before so this was pretty exciting. We went for a tamed wild scoop of lots of mid and grey greens with succulents and tiny pops of colour from sanguisorba. It looked so pretty.
The best bit (and the one that made me smile) was that Kate had collected safari animals from car boot sales and painted them all gold. Half were to go on the table as place settings and the other half of them were to be hidden amongst all the floral arrangements.
And so we went big with the table decorations (not just to hide the animals in) but because the reception space could take them. The safari lodge has lovely high ceilings and so large scale table decorations always look great here. We went for large crazy tree style pieces with lots of hidden animals in them.
Scroll through these lovely photos and and keep an eye out for the tiny gold monkey we put in Mark's buttonhole, if you look hard you might be able to spot it.
