Lauren and Harrison's Flower Story

Neutral coloured wedding flowers, (think blush, beige, ivory and whites) are a classic colour palette. They are elegant, romantic and quite popular at the moment and it’s easy to see why. I always think this colour palette is perfect for a stately home or country house venue.  And Lauren and Harrison’s reception venue, Kelmarsh Hall, fitted the bill perfectly.

But I’m getting ahead of myself. Lauren and Harrison came to me with a vision of wedding flowers that were soft, delicate and super pretty. We wanted to re-create a delicate overgrown secret garden with lots of twists, trails and tiny surprises. To acheive this look we turned to smaller delicate flowers such as sweet peas, spray roses, small garden roses, phlox and jasmine. This flower palette had the bonus of being beautifully scented.

Lauren wanted a cascade bouquet and one that wasn’t too large. My favourite majolica spray roses featured heavily in the bouquet and these are always a winner. Tones of blush, ivory and white all on one stem! The bridesmaids all carried flowery posies tied together with a gentle blush ribbon.

And that was just the beginning. Guest walked under a super pretty flowery arch as they entered the church. And it was such a lovely moment when I stood with local villagers outside the church. There were lots of gasps as Lauren got out of her wedding car and entered the church.

And so back to Kelmarsh Hall for the reception. This beauty of a stately home is nestled in the Northamptonshire country side. Filled with beautiful carpets, antique furniture and huge ceilings decorated with the most intricate plasterwork. Flower filled grey stone urns looked gorgeous against these pretty details.

The wedding breakfast was classically elegant. Tables were loaded with sparkling glassware, brass candle sticks and garden style urns overflowing with flowers. Each urn was slightly different to give a lovely eclectic look. Oh, and the top table was a flower lovers dream. Just check out the images and you’ll see what I mean.

What a wedding to work on and such kind words from this super stylish couple,
